Copyright Law

Copyright law is concerned with preserving the “writings” of authors. As technology has expanded, so has the definition of writings; this term now ranges from architectural design to graphic arts to sound recordings.
Copyright Law covers works such as:
• Books • Cartoons • Architectural Design • Computer Software • Internet Material • Drawings • Graphic Arts • Graphic Animation • Plays • Poems • Paintings • Photographs • Musical Works.
A copyright gives the owner the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, or license his or her work. Under current law, works are covered whether or not a copyright notice is attached and whether or not the work is registered.
If you have any copyright issues, it is best to seek the advice of a skilled New York Copyright Law attorney.
